For the second year in a row, Galeries Lafayette is strengthening its commitment to young creative talent by inviting one of the finalists of the Hyères Festival to create a capsule collection.
This year, Sophie Harand, finalist at the 2015 event, presents her collection of men’s accessories, designed in collaboration with Galeries Lafayette.



Partner of Villa Noailles since 2007, GaleriesLafayette is supporting young creative talent byinviting one of the finalists of the HyèresInternational Festival of Fashion and Photographyto create a capsule collection with the GaleriesLafayette brand. Through this collaboration, youngdesigners are given the chance to produce creative,exclusive collections at affordable prices.

Sophie Harand’s collection of men’s accessoriescomprises nine pieces combining the utilitariandimension of nomadic items with a highlyesthetic approach. Brandy-colored leather is matchedwith khaki nylon fabric and flannel for seven pieces,ranging from a backpack and shopping bag tosmall leather goods, plus two models of sneakers.The collection reflects the highly imaginative worldof this young designer, bringing together style andfunctionality.

The collection will be available from September21, 2016, at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann,selected stores in the chain, BHV Marais and on the www.galerieslafayette.com website.

About Sophie Harand
Sophie Harand’s work focuses essentially on the male wardrobe, combining sportswear functionality with chic urban styling, bringing together opposites and creating a surprise effect with unexpected materials. Sophie Harand studied product design at the École des Arts Appliqués (Olivier de Serres) and obtained an MA in fashion design from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in 2013. She completed internships at Lutz, Bernhard Willhelm and Wanda Nylon, then joined the staff at John Galliano. She was one of the 10 finalists at the Hyères Festival in 2015 with the La Chute d’Icare collection.
